PTA
"There is helpful and regular communication with parents and the PTA support generously the work of the school."
— ETI 2016 At St Columba’s we are wonderfully supported by our parents.
We have an exceptional PTA with Charity Status that generously supports our school. Since its formation in June 2015 Straw PTA has organised many wonderful events such as pupil discos, Christmas and Summer Fairs, A Country Night, Big Breakfasts and a Gala Ball.
These events provide a unique opportunity to strengthen the home school links as it brings staff, parents and teachers together socially in support of the school, working towards a common goal. They also raise much needed funds for our school.
These fundraisers have helped pay for things such as an accelerated reading library, supported the cost of after-school clubs, social skills classes, creation of a sensory garden, theatre productions, author visits, supported the cost of school trips, supported the cost of mindfulness classes, and paid for the creation of a new playground. All of these resources and experiences have greatly enhanced the experiences of our pupils whilst creating a strong sense of community.
Keep an eye out for events with the Facebook Page Straw Pta.
